Q: Do you offer “game ready” breakin?

A:  I have this discussion a lot.  I do not promise “game ready”, for several reasons:

        1) The age of the player, the strength of their hand, the length of their fingers, and if they 

            use “two in the pinky”, help determine if a glove is “game ready”.

        2) Close point of a glove is very personal and is important in the break in process.  This will 

             be determined over time by the player after use. (Think about how it feels when you try     

              on someone else’s glove, it often doesn’t feel right, because their close point is different)

        3) A player has to feel like it is ready for them.  The game of baseball is mostly mental.

    I get a glove ready so the player can close it, but often use will be needed before it is 

    considered game ready, the player is the best judge of that.

Q: What is your process for breakin?

A:  I follow Wilson’s glove guru Aso’s method of breakin, which uses water.  More details can be found here.

Q: What colors of lace do you have?

A:  I carry many colors of lace:  Black, Tan, Camel (light tan), Chocolate (brown), Navy Blue, 

     Royal Blue, Carolina Blue, Turquoise, Maroon, Red, Pink, Yellow, White, Orange, and Grey.  

     I can get almost any color you want, I just need three business days to get it.

Q: Can you fix my glove today?

A:  Possibly.  If I am home and available, many times I can do repairs while you wait.  I 

     understand your time is valuable and will make every effort to accommodate you, so you 

     don’t have to make multiple trips.  

Q: My dog chewed my glove, can you fix it?

A:  It depends.  If they just chewed laces I can fix it.  If they chewed actual leather of the glove, I

     do not do leather repairs.

Q: My catchers mitt is pulling apart and needs to be sewn, can you fix that?

A:  No, I do not do leather sewing, as I do not have a leather sewing machine.  I often tell people

     to reach out to a shoe repair shop.  (They may need to unlace it to sew it, I can fix the lacing)

Q: Do you dye gloves?

A:  No.  I have found that dying gloves is best left to others, like shoe repair shops.
